Paolo Cimmino

Paolo Cimmino is an internationally recognized Frame drum soloist and a versatile percussion artist He started his career as a member of the San Carlo Theater Orchestra of Naples and has performed as a percussionist with it for more than ten years. During this period, in addition to the passion for classical music, he studied Indian music and jazz.

Currently, Paolo teaches percussion at the Conservatory of Music “G. Martucci “in Salerno and Ethnic music for Frame drums at the MusicAteneo University of Salerno.

He is regularly invited to attend courses in Italy and throughout Europe at prestigious academies including the Royal College of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, the Franz Liszt Hochschule fur Musik in Weimar and others. Jury member and clinician at PAS Italy Percussion Day, and PAS Greece Percussion Day
Paolo also collaborated and collaborated with numerous Italian and foreign artists. (Nuova Compagnia di Canto Popolare  Lucio Dalla, John Psathas, Christos Rafalides,  Zohar,Fresco  Ganesh Kumar, etc…).

He has performed an intense concert activity both in Italy and abroad, performing with Daniella Ganeva in the Framed Resonance duo (Marimba and percussion); With Ghatam Suresh in the Duo Clay Drums India (Indian percussion, frame and piano drums); And in the percussion quartet “MediTamburi”, which is the founder of the group.

A passionate educator, Paolo has written a great deal of teaching material on “Tamburello” and his technique, including the acclaimed “A new way of playing tambourine” publisher  ( Note di Merito), “5 Solo Tambourines” and La Ritmica per Tamburo Publisher “Santarpino”.

For the publisher “Norskmusik forlag”, he published “Hidden tears” for marimba and tambourine “and” Il Sorpasso “for SET UP.

For the “Svitzer Edition” has released “Secret Passion” for marimba, bows and percussion.
For the University of Salerno he has worked on a DVD on “La Tammurriata Ancient Traditions and Future Possibilities” and “Solkattu Groove & Exercise”.

He is endorsed by Meinl Percussion, Bergerault, Ufip, Mike Balter, AP Instrument and Alternate Mod. Inc Black swamp.
